Grand Reopening 1767 Chowan County Courthouse

The Board of Commissioners of Chowan County, The Division of State Historic Sites of the NC Department of Cultural Resources and the Edenton Historical Commission invite you to a celebration of the post-restoration reopening of the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse on Friday October 8, 2004.

Three great events will mark the reopening that Friday.

At 9:30 AM there will be a Special Working Session of the North Carolina Supreme Court, the Honorable I. Beverly Lake, Jr. Chief Justice Presiding.

At 2:00 PM the Official Reopening Ceremony the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse will be held.

At 6:30 PM the Edenton Historical Commission is sponsoring a formal Gala on the Green to celebrate the courthouse re-opening and to benefit the mission of preserving and presenting the Edenton and Chowan community as an aesthetic, historic, and educational place.
