Of course this hero of the left was an extreme advocate of hate, but the left goes balistic, not over killing like Che Guevara did. Oh no. He is a hero. It is only if you criticize Obama that you are reviled as a hate monger.

Musings On My Birthday

My brother Ray visited this weekend and on two different occassions isssues of public discourse resulted in his getting angry at me. Really really angry. Simply because I dared to disagree with him. It reminded me of the way that many progresssives react to the incredulous (to them) idea that conservatives or libertarians think they share the right to free speech progressives enjoy.


Dear Ray,

Since we are brothers I would like to be able to have a discussion with you that does not end in anger… a discussion that actually makes progress in seeing things from both sides even if we don’t agree. I have linked some articles below and made some comments that support how my views were formed. As a background to these comments, I want you to know that I read liberal blogs and liberal newspapers and watch CNN every single day. Many on the left never read anything that would take them out of their comfort zones of left wing opinion. That amazes me. How can you be sure you are even close to correct if you never stretch your mind to see the other guy’s side? Do you ever read right wing news sources or listen to Fox? (Sorry. Just a side note of curiosity. Back to the discussion.)

First, I hope you will note the efforts of Congressman Waxman to intimidate the CEOs of AT&T Inc., Verizon Communications Inc., Caterpillar Inc. and Deere & Co. for daring suggest their health care costs will increase as a result of Obamacare. That happened day before yesterday. Is Waxman not aware of the Sarbanes-Oxley rules about disclosure that force these revised profit forecasts? Does he think he can intimidate these people into violating Sarbanes-Oxley to support his view of Obamacare?

Threats of violence (and even violence) in America are far more prevalent from the left than they have ever been from the right. No liberals, progressives or Democrats in recent memory have had a mob keep them from speaking. Yet it is a common experience for conservatives and libertarians to deal with left wing mobs that block them from speaking and threaten their safety. Why is the left so afraid of free speech?

Leading Democrats have written books fantasizing about the assassination of George W. Bush. Dick Cheney and Bush both were hanged in effigy during rallies by Democrats organized publicly to encourage someone to assassinate them. Yet no task force was ever put together by the FBI, nor did the Bush regime ever publish documents claiming that Democrats were un-American or traitors and terrorists as Obama has done against his opposition. The liberal press would have torn them apart. Yet the liberal press ignores what Obama is doing.

There are a large number of Americans who remember Miami, Waco and Ruby Ridge. They will never trust the FBI, ATF or DOJ… ever again. So when a report was produced by the Obama regime that specifically claimed terrorism was on the rise from right wing groups and that efforts needed to be put forth to stop the un-American activities of the TEA Party movement and its leaders (like me), it cannot be blithely discounted.

The Obama regime sees returning veterans, the TEA party movement and other right wing so-called extremists as the most serious terrorism focus they need to address, not foreigners or Muslims. In other words, people like me. Do you see me as a threat to America? Do you think returning veterans are a threat?

It was a very peaceful event, covered in the Weekly Standard by Mary Katherine Hamm as too “southern” (meaning polite) for most Americans. After the nationwide TEA Parties were held, Nancy Pelosi claimed that our events were organized by “Nazis” and that Nazi signs and symbols were “everywhere” (a lie). It is especially ironic since Nazis were socialists, not conservatives. Look at the pictures of our rally linked to on my web site and show me a sign that could be called a threat to peace. There are no Nazis or anyone like them coming to TEA Party events. They don’t see us as their kind of people. Were Pelosi’s lies not divisive?

After the 9/12 rally in Washington DC, the same effort was made again, to proclaim that we were a threat to national safety, called “terrorists” by Harry Reid, and only press efforts by conservative papers exposed the plans by the FBI and Homeland Security of a task force to investigate the leadership of the TEA Party Movement. Lots of negative press publicity put a stop to it… again just barely.

You called me paranoid for my response to the phone call about these efforts. However it is clear to me that illegal intimidation by the left occurs every single time we protest politically. The strategies of Saul Alinsky and Cloward-Piven to create a false impression of threats from the right so the left can destroy America cannot be ignored. Those strategies are well known. They are not made up by those on the right. They are serious proposals by people on the left, publicly embraced by Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. Anyone who dismisses them is naïve in the extreme. I was astonished that you said you had never heard of Cloward-Piven. Obama taught the technique to ACORN, as well as the Alinsky techniques. That has been reported going back to when he was a candidate. How could you miss it?

The Obama regime is looking for reasons to use police force to intimidate political opposition. Your failure to appreciate how prevalent it is, and how intentional it is, concerns me. I think Obama is far more of a threat to democracy than anyone who has ever been elected President, and the acts he has taken, quietly and without apparent awareness of many of his supporters, proves that.

The huge surge in opposition to the most divisive President in history is justified in my mind. It is not paranoia.

I know you don’t want my opinion of what is happening to the world, but I can sum it up with a simple statement. As a direct result of the naïve demagogue currently leading our nation, Tel Aviv and Washington are both destined to be the targets of nuclear bombs. Confessions of a “Selfish” American Conservative

When it was put on my heart as a child that I would be a doctor and render service to those in need, I wondered how I would pay for my journey and who would come to my aid. While many of my peers were out having a good time and squandering away their time, talent and resources I buckled down to study, then gave up the marching band which I dearly loved to work in a physician's office to begin saving money for college and ultimately medical school. I went to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro through work-study, loans for service and awards from the NAACP Legal Defense Fund to help integrate that institution. I even shined shoes for my white female classmates and cleaned more than a toilet or two in my search for cash--all of which seems beneath today’s students too often in search of a free ride.

In 1966, my father whose church pension was $100 monthly received only $107 per month from Social Security after more than thirty years as a pastor. The SS student supplement for me and my brother was $75 each per month until we were 21 which we gave to our parents while we went to work. My father wanted to pay for my medical education, not appreciating that my tuition exceeded three times more than the $2400 he took in retirement. Loans and grants with repayment for service criteria and work doing anything legal still left me with a $54,000 debt in 1975 for my medical education.

In my residency, I ran into tax trouble not understanding business or financial realities like you can’t actually spend your salary -- for taxes and other things such as FICA which I knew little about were being deducted.

Knowing nothing about saving for retirement I not only tried to earn more, I sacrificed to set aside monies from those already taxed while I planned to live comfortably past 65. Eventually I would appreciate that business is the bed rock of America and would invest my already taxed dollars in the stock market taking great risks to help businesses which would provide jobs for Americans.

I entered the Public Health Service to help repay some of my government assistance, followed shortly thereafter by a stint in the John Umstead Hospital of Butner, NC as the Alcohol Detoxification Director serving a 16 county catchments area for less money than the private sector paid. Then it was off to Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc. followed by Amoco Oil Corporation where I found my salary impounded by the federal government to get money given me for loans which had already supposedly been paid off in service through seven years out of my career when I could have made millions.

I had no right of recourse from the government which had acknowledged my service but cited a sentence in the loan noting that loans would be repaid only if Congress appropriated the money... which it hadn’t. The government got my service for free and took its money as well as pound of flesh.

Meanwhile I continued to give over $400 per month to the United Way while employed and donated generously to charities of my choice not those of the government.

Now we move fast forward to find as a baby boomer the retirement age had already been upped for social security even though it wasn’t so when I started putting my money in it. My stock market losses weren’t sufficient for tax rebates though my capital gains would be stolen in taxes with government consent to fund those who hadn’t made plans for a rainy day. 401K and IRA’s which were for my future have lost so much value that they aren’t sufficient for retirement or my personal support. Defined benefits plans which I had in two places have seen one not offered at 65. Fortunes of health which forced my retirement against my will on disability for lack of accommodations only to find those monies heavily taxed and converted to social security at age 62 which is less than I received on disability.

Add in that age discrimination means the likelihood of finding meaningful work past 55 is a joke.

So what should we do? Stand up for America and resist the continued massive redistribution of wealth which is Obamacare and all of its social engineering. Since Congress won’t vote to bind itself to the same rules it makes for other citizens, throw the bums out. And if like me you’ve drunk the tea — taxed enough already, then appreciate that we are in need of a new revolution for we are truly facing increasing taxation without representation.

An Easily Understandable Explanation of the Derivatives Markets

Heidi is the proprietor of a bar in Detroit. She realizes that virtually all of her customers are unemployed alcoholics and, as such, can no longer afford to patronize her bar. To solve this problem, she comes up with a new marketing plan that allows her customers to drink now, but pay later. She keeps track of the drinks consumed in a ledger (thereby granting the customers loans).

Word gets around about Heidi's "drink now, pay later" marketing strategy and, as a result, increasing numbers of customers flood into Heidi's bar. Soon she has the largest sales volume for any bar in Detroit.

By providing her customers freedom from immediate payment demands, Heidi gets no resistance when, at regular intervals, she substantially increases her prices for wine and beer, the most consumed beverages. Consequently, Heidi's gross sales volume increases massively.

A young and dynamic Vice President at the local bank recognizes that these customer debts constitute valuable future assets, and increases Heidi's borrowing limit. He sees no reason for any undue concern, since he has the debts of the unemployed alcoholics as collateral.

At the bank's corporate headquarters, expert traders transform these customer loans into DRINKBONDS, ALKIBONDS and PUKEBONDS. These securities are then bundled and traded on international security markets. Naive investors don't really understand that the securities being sold to them as AAA secured bonds are really the debts of unemployed alcoholics. Nevertheless, the bond prices continuously climb, and the securities soon become the hottest-selling items for some of the nation's leading brokerage houses.

One day, even though the bond prices are still climbing, a risk manager at the original local bank decides that the time has come to demand payment on the debts incurred by the drinkers at Heidi's bar. He so informs Heidi.

Heidi then demands payment from her alcoholic patrons, but being unemployed alcoholics they cannot pay back their drinking debts.

Since Heidi cannot fulfill her loan obligations, she is forced into bankruptcy. The bar closes and the eleven employees lose their jobs.

Overnight, DRINKBONDS, ALKIBONDS and PUKEBONDS drop in price by 90%. The collapsed bond asset value destroys the banks liquidity and prevents it from issuing new loans, thus freezing credit and economic activity in the community.

The suppliers of Heidi's bar had granted her generous payment extensions and had invested their firms' pension funds in the various BOND securities. They find they are now faced with not only having to write off her bad debt but also with losing over 90% of the presumed value of the bonds. Her wine supplier claims bankruptcy, closing the doors on a family business that had endured for three generations, and her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor, who immediately closes the local plant and lays off 150 workers.

Fortunately though, the bank, the brokerage houses and their respective executives are saved and bailed out by a multi-billion dollar, no-strings attached cash infusion from their cronies in Government.

The funds required for this bailout are obtained by new taxes levied on employed, middle-class, non-drinkers who have never been in Heidi's bar.

The person responsible for smashing windows at Democrat Headquarters in Denver was 24year-old "transgendered" Obama supporter Maurice Schwenkler.

At the 2008 GOP Convention, Democrat activists David McKay and Bradley Crowder planned to firebomb GOP convention-goers with Molotov cocktails.

Black conservative Ken Gladney was gang-stomped and repeatedly called "ni**er" by four Obama-supporting SEIU union goons at a Town Hall meeting in St. Louis, Missouri.

Obama-supporting Democrats Daniel Meinecke and Cara Hindman attacked campaign workers at GOP headquarters in Galax, Virginia.

These were not anonymous unproven accusations by unknown people. They were public attacks by leading Democrats and prominent progressives. Of course none of these acts upset the MSM in the least. However the claim that someone uttered an insult and others made vague threats against Democrats after the health care vote has created a firestorm in the press. "How dare these vicious conservatives not control their supporters" is the new mantra.

Even here though the comparison is ironic. Democrats are complaining about bricks being thrown through the window of unoccupied Democrat headquarters. While at the same time bullets are being fired into occupied Republican Senate offices. Which have you seen reported in the press?

The take out line provided most of the over 1,000 meals produced. There were a couple of hundred people who showed up without tickets who could not be served because they ran out of chicken. Next year, they need to buy tickets so we can plan enough to feed them!

Honorable mention must go to Joe Alexander of the Windsor fire department. He showed up early to help out and tripped over a trailer hitch while it was still dark. As a result he cut his leg badly. Or so he thought. After walking around on it for a while he was persuaded to go to the doctor. It was broken. I have heard stories of people playing a game of football with a broken arm but this is the first time I have ever heard of someone working for a charitable event with a broken leg. Joe is clearly tougher than we previously believed. Hope the leg heals fast, Joe.

This bill would have passed long ago, if they had the votes. Congress members that we met on the street in DC today who are voting against this bill tell us that we still NEED your help right NOW! Not next week, but Sunday! We're within 3 votes!

Folks, I don't know how to say this in a nice way, this is like Pearl Harbor, but the enemy is within. WE have a duty as American citizens to stand against those within our government who would threaten our liberty. Our liberty is UNDER attack right now.

I'm glad that people showed up, but it should have been more like a million plus for what is truly at stake. We all have busy lives, but think back to the sacrifices that your parents, grandparents and our current military who put their lives on the line everyday to keep us free!! That freedom is at stake.

I'm very troubled by reports on Geraldo ( FOX News ) tonight about racial slurs that were supposedly hurled against a group of black legislators that passed by the crowd assembled between the Capitol and the Congressional offices today. I was in that crowd on the opposite side of the street watching that particular group go by. I didn't hear a single racial slur, but what I did hear were the same vehement pleas to Congress members, both black and white that passed by us to Kill the Bill. Those in support, black or white gave us a thumbs up or if not, they marched by us stoically, as we increased our yells to Kill the Bill. This particular group all came out together, would not face the crowd. People in the crowd booed, but I never heard anyone around me say anything racially derogatory. Those around me were mad, about the injustice of the bill, but no racial slurs.

It sounds to me like more of the same... ram it down our throats at any cost, results justify the means, attack the messenger ... that is - Saul Alinsky the crowd... simply to distract from the message.

Who knows if there were really people who yelled this sort of thing whether they were part of our loosley associated grassroots group or there with another agenda? There are tunnels that run between the Capitol and these office buildings. Knowing there was an angry crowd of protestors, the majority of those Congress members voting Yea took the tunnels to avoid seeing the protests. In fact, the President did a similar evasive move. We had been told by Congress members against the bill that the President was scheduled to pass through that very intersection where we were all gathered on his way to another give away session to Dems at the Capitol. He never did. Later we determined that they snuck him in another route, perhaps by helicopter to avoid seeing the large number of Americans that had travelled from all across the nation to protest this bill. So, did this group perhaps have an agenda? Who knows?

Ever heard of CMSP? We hadn't either until we read an ESPN Outdoors piece by Robert Montgomery.

So we did some research and what we found scares us to the point we've considered selling our boat and wonder if we're going to have to get rid of our fishing gear. We suspect the beer companies are equally uneasy about what lies in store.

It seems that President Obama has appointed a group called the Ocean Policy Task Force. The original idea was to plan Federal policy related to ocean fishing. But on December 14, 2009 the Task Force issued its Interim Report entitled: Interim Framework for Effective Coastal and Marine Spatial Planning.

The report is a stunning declaration of war against anything that touches our coastal areas... and going inland for many miles. This is all being implemented by Executive Decree. Not a single law is being passed by any legislature. A huge new federal bureaucracy is being created. Powerful new abuses of citizen rights are being planned. All compliments of Barack Hussein Obama, the Magic Marxist Messiah.

When did Obama become dictator?

What scares me is that I missed all the furor yesterday when this started. I usually read lucianne.com. However somehow this article from my own backyard slipped by. I only caught it when I saw it listed so high in the results of traffic from the previous day.

Who are these power hungry people? Not a single day goes by during which they fail to seize more and more power over our lives? For the North Carolina Inner Banks, this will be a disaster.

Diversity Policy Voted Down In Tense Meeting

In a chaotic and conflict-filled meeting, Wake County's school board voted Tuesday night to kill the district's long-standing diversity policy and begin implementing neighborhood schools.

By a 5-4 vote, the board gave the first of two approvals needed to pass a resolution calling for abandoning busing for diversity, a policy that has won Wake national recognition and has been an important factor in student assignments for decades. The resolution calls for assigning students to schools in their communities.

The vote, which signals fundamental change for the state's largest district, came at the end of a day of tense, emotional meetings.
The sessions started at 10 a.m. and included grim budget news from Superintendent Del Burns. There was a closed-door session to decide whether Burns, a strong supporter of the diversity policy, would be fired before he retires June 30. And as afternoon stretched toward evening, there were hours of public comment, including a near-violent disturbance over a speaker's accusations of racism.

Supporters of the board's ruling coalition hailed the diversity vote as a step toward providing families more stability. But critics complained the measure would lead to resegregation and deepen the academic divide between impoverished and affluent schools. In a spirited impromptu demonstration after the vote, they vowed to keep fighting and echoed the civil rights protesters of the 1960s.

"Don't get discouraged!" said the Rev. William Barber, president of the state NAACP, who has threatened to sue the board if policies result in resegregation. "Get your head up! We've got some courts we may need to get into."

Supporters of the board majority said attempts to cast the resolution in the light of civil rights were wrong.

"It's insulting to all the people who actually lived in the horrendous segregated schools to compare that to letting people simply stay in neighborhood schools," said Dallas Woodhouse, state director of Americans for Prosperity, a conservative group.

Everything in the World of Barack Obama is race based, at least according to the NAACP. The professional race baiters are out in force. Far from being the uniter that Obama promised he would be, he stirs racial animus at almost every opportunity. Whites assumed the election of a black President indicated race no longer matters and we were closer to the dream of Martin Luther King. Blacks have taken the election of Obama as a sign that it is their turn on top in a nation where 13% of the population will dictate to whites all decisions of government.

Of course this attempt to end the stupidity of busing to overcome racism from 50 years ago will be contested by the race baiters. Their jobs depend on it.

Colin Powell has this famous photograph to document his endorsement of Barack Hussein Obama for President. Note the calm and professional demeanor for which the former General, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and Secretary of State is noted.

With his recent criticism of President Obama's decisions on national defense you have to wonder what he thinks of that endorsement today. It should be noted, blacks voted by an overwhelming 94% to 6% in favor of race (i.e. Barack Obama) in the 2008 election. That means that over two thirds of the 15% of blacks who are Republicans voted for Obama on the basis of race too.

It also explains the certainty with which so many blacks believe opposition to Obama is based on race. Their community proved that voting on race is the accepted norm for them so why is anyone surprised they project that motivation to others?

What is curious is the latest polls which indicate that 18% of blacks think that Obama is doing a bad job. This could be projected to assume that all of the blacks who are Republicans have returned to their conservative roots and are unhappy with Obama's extremist left wing positions. Yet it still indicates that a number of liberal blacks are unhappy with Obama too since the number who are unhapppy exceeds the number who are Republicans by nearly 20%. I would love to see more detail in this poll to understand exactly what is happening. Whatever it is, it cannot bode well for Obama going forward.

Mr. Obama Repeals The Law Of Gravity

This just in from the White House: Barack Obama -- the beneficent, the merciful -- has repealed the law of gravity, calling it "old science" and saying in his weekly radio address that it was "time to move on and put this slavish devotion to 17th century dogma behind us."

The president drew a careful comparison between his brainstorm in repealing the law of gravity and Isaac Newton's in inventing it. Under this comparison, Newton came out rather badly. In a conversation with Rahm Emanuel prior to going public with this announcement, the president explained his thinking:

Though it is hard to tell, this IS satire. It is worth reading though as it explains in clear detail the typical techniques Obama uses to hide his deceitful plans, but with great satire... or is that sarcasm?
