Inner Banks Philosophy

"It is the madness of folly, to expect mercy from those who have refused to do justice; and even mercy, where conquest is the object, is only a trick of war; the cunning of the fox is as murderous as the violence of the wolf."

-- Thomas Paine

Ever wonder why Democrats cannnot accept this logic applies to enemies of America?

It only took two hours to change the landscape to white. I know the snow will not last, but it is beautiful while it does!

Inner Banks Irony

Democrats have smeared the Republicans as the party of "NO".

Now the defeated Democrats are chanting, "Just Say NO!"

Ahhh how things change.

In a total surprise to nearly everyone American skier Lindsey Vonn has had her Olympic Gold Medal in Downhill taken away.

The International Olympic Committee announced today that it has given it instead to U.S. President Barack Obama because no one has ever gone downhill faster than he has.

Obama Ditches Tax Cut Presser
After Bill Clinton Takes Control

Video - December 10th, 2010 - Real Clear Politics

Former President Bill Clinton gave a statement after his meeting with President Obama about his tax compromise with the Republicans.

However, after his statement, Clinton began to call on and take questions from the press with Obama at his side. Obama leaves promptly after a few moments and said he had to see Michelle, as he was keeping her "waiting."

"I don't want to make her mad, please go," Clinton told Obama.

This video shows the most childish reaction by President Obama to date. His petulant reaction over his clear impression that Clinton was upstaging him could not have been more infantile. He walked out.

After his speech yesterday about the Chinese recipient of the Nobel prize where Obama opened talking about himself, it is becoming blatantly obvious that this man is an unrepentent narcissist. It also appears that Obama is scared of his wife.

One of the best takes on this walkout was the article in the Daily Caller by Jim Treacher titled "Did Obama Just Quit?"

Legendary Cowboys, SMU
Quarterback Don Meredith Dies

by Brad Townsend - December 6th, 2010 - The Dallas Morning News

Don Meredith, the Dallas Cowboys and SMU quarterback and Monday Night Football icon, died Sunday evening in Santa Fe, N.M. He was 72.

[Snip]

He was the only living Cowboys Ring of Honor member unable to attend the franchise's September 2009 inaugural game at Cowboys Stadium.

Meredith was the original Dallas Cowboy, signing a personal services contract on Nov. 28, 1959, two months before the franchise officially gained admittance into the NFL.

Hailing from Mount Vernon in East Texas, the quarterback nicknamed "Dandy Don" had the unique distinction of playing all of his home high school, college and professional football games within 100 miles of Dallas.

Don Meredith was a great guy. Due to a fraternity brother being a first cousin who was also a close friend with him, Don Meredith attended a Saturday night party held at my apartment in Atlanta. He was in town to play football with the Dalls Cowboys at the height of his fame in 1968. A huge fan, I spent most of the night hanging with the crowd that talked with him and the incredibly beautiful young lady who was his date. He was a down to earth guy who thought hanging out with a cousin and his fraternity brothers to be a totally natural thing to do. My date was impressed with him too. The entire fraternity talked about that party for months afterwards. It was a huge success. It also ended the doubt some had harbored that our fraternity brother was making up his supposed friendship with Dandy Don. The Cowboys won the game the next day.

I loved the way Meredith handled himself on Monday Night Football. He was as casual and comfortable on the show as he was hanging out with a bunch of college kids to spend time with his cousin that night. Dandy Don Meredith was a great guy. I know I said that already. However he really was and that is what should be remembered.

God bless Don's friends and family, especially his cousin Beau, wherever he is.

Petraeus gives Obama 'manly man' shirt

by Rachel Weiner - December 3rd, 2010 - Washington Post

Before speaking to troops in Afghanistan, President Obama got a present from Gen. David Petraeus -- a "manly man T-shirt." The reason? So no one ever elbows Obama in the face during a basketball game again.

President Obama flew 13 hours one way to Afghanistan and spent just under 4 hours on the ground before flying back to America, another 13 hours. Not to honor our troops. He went for two purposes. To distract from the fact that unemployment has started to rise again under his economic lack of leadership. Also to allow the troops to honor him!

Note the last line in the article. When the cheering was not loud enough, Obama actually had the unmitigated gall to ask the soldiers cheer louder for him. I am convinced that next years Webster's Dictionary will have a picture of Obama as the definition of Chutzpah.

Oh. I forgot. He also called Karzai and spoke for 15 minutes. I guess Obama wanted the call to be local for some reason. The second White House press release claimed he wanted to see Karzai face to face but the weather prohibited his helicopter from flying the short distance. Yeah. Right.

Man Rushed To Hospital After His
Droid Phone Explodes In His Ear

by Jon Bershad - December 3rd, 2010 - Mediaite

Well, it looks like there may be one more thing that “Droid does” and that would be “exploding against your ear.” I guess giving people brain tumors over the years is just too slow for our modern day technology. A Texas man was rushed to the hospital after his smart phone decided to end his phone call in a decidedly unusual way.

Somebody needs to look in to a little cell phone safety! The man's hearing was not harmed but his cell phone screen exploded and cut his outer ear, requiring stitches. Ouch.

Note that the article does not back up the headline. It did not explode IN his ear but AGAINST his ear.

The Cost Of Obama Tyranny

Generic Colchicine has for more than 40 years been a key drug in managing the pain associated with gout. Not any more. Not unless you are rich. The Obama dominated tyrants in the FDA decided that they needed to "review" this drug, so they pulled it from the shelves of our drug stores. There were no problems associated with the drug other than the "problem" that the FDA wanted to control the provider companies more tightly under new rules that Obama pushed for under the health care bill.

Rather than spend several millions dollars to redo the useless tests and file the extensive paperwork required to get "permission" to keep making this drug that has been so effective for 40 years, it was abandoned by every manufacturer except one. In order to recover the millions spent by that one manufacturer, now a monopoly, the cost of the drug has gone up dramatically.

How much?

Last year 30 pills cost $4. Now 30 pills costs $260.

That is right. That is the cost of Obama tyranny for people with gout. This is just one example among tens of thousands of actions where the tyranny of Obama bureaucrats will affect the lives of millions of innocent citizens who have done nothing wrong. Two of my daily drugs have vastly increased prices thanks to Obama's new FDA initiative. Both are now more for each drug per month than ALL my drugs were before the price increases. This is not just insane, it is incompetent. Even after I dropped Colchicine entirely my drug costs have gone up 400% in one month.

What happened to reducing health care costs?
