Sergeant First Class John C. Beale

This video is simply awesome.

Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time. The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey.

Watch this if you wish to have your faith in America restored.

Click on link for an incredible feeling. It is long but I recommend you watch it all. It is a Hero's salute.

Personal Comments: Though born in North Carolina, sometime after I left Aulander we moved to a farm in Henry County. I attended Fairview Elementary School where we competed in football against the McDonough Elementary School in the community Sgt. Beale is from. I remember that Stockbridge Elementary was the best team in the Henry County league back then. My younger brother was the quarterback and my older brother was the center and a linebacker for Fairview.

Falcon Field was one of the local airports that my father, a flight instructor, gave lessons at.

My parents decided after a couple of years to put us in DeKalb County Schools for one year to see if they were better. The road we drove on every day to school was the two lane road that shows up for a while in this video, where it says "Entering Henry County".

That is not why this video brought me to tears though. It is remembering the great number of Americans who are willing to risk everything to keep us a free nation. God bless Sergeant First Class John C. Beale and all our volunteeer soldiers.
