School Hailed by Obama Succeeded By Firing Teachers, Bucking Union

President Obama spoke last night about the need to “win the race to educate our kids” and asked if we as Americans are “willing to do what’s necessary to give every child a chance to succeed.” He highlighted one school in particular—Bruce Randolph School in Denver. “Three years ago, it was rated one of the worst schools in Colorado; located on turf between two rival gangs,” Obama said. “But last May, 97 percent of the seniors received their diploma. Most will be the first in their family to go to college.”

What Obama failed to mention is how Bruce Randolph turned its situation around: firing teachers at will after being granted an exemption from union rules.

Typical Democrat hypocrisy. Lauding the success of a school while totally opposing the very techniques by which that success was attained. The two related problems in our nation are ignorant teaching methods supported by corrupt educrat dominated unions. Obama will not accept that premise, or allow that reality to reduce the union domination of our kids and their education.

Cash For Education Clunkers

"We're going to have to out-educate other countries," President Obama urged this week. How? By out-spending them, of course! It's the same old quack cure for America's fat and failing government-run schools monopoly. The one-trick ponies at the White House call their academic improvement agenda "targeted investing" for "winning the future." Truth in advertising: Get ready to fork over more Cash for Education Clunkers.

Our government already spends more per capita on education than any other of the 34 wealthiest countries in the world except for Switzerland...

Mark Lawson, school board president of one of New York state's first districts to put technology directly in students' hands, told The New York Times in 2007: "After seven years, there was literally no evidence it had any impact on student achievement -- none."

Any honest assessment proves the computer giveaway here in Bertie County was equally useless. Money is NOT the problem.

Rumors are that the same groups who built the useless taj mahal middle school are determined to build a new high school. That too will be a useless waste of money. Schools don't teach. Even fancy new schools don't teach. Children learn when they are challenged to learn in the same old way we taught people for thousands of years. As soon as some arrogant out of touch educrat claims to have found a new way to teach our children (which happens every time our children's test scores prove again they are not learning) you can be sure of one thing. It is a lie. It is equally a lie when they claim that the problem is money.

When anyone, even the Preident of the United States, insists that throwing money at our problems is needed "to out-educate other countries," there is one thing you can be sure of. Our children are about to be ripped off by the same "education" unions who have already destroyed our school systems for three generations.

The proposal itself shows how stupid Obama thinks we are.

Subject: Jihadis On Strike Over Cuts By Al Qaeda

Muslim suicide bombers in Britain are set to begin a three-day strike on Monday in a dispute over the number of virgins they are entitled to in the afterlife. Emergency talks with Al Qaeda have so far failed to produce an agreement

The unrest began last Tuesday when Al Qaeda announced that the number of virgins a suicide bomber would receive after his death will be cut by 25% this February from 72 to only 60. The rationale for the cut was the increase in recent years of the number of suicide bombings and a subsequent shortage of virgins in the afterlife.

The suicide bombers' union, the British Organization of Occupational Martyrs (or B.O.O.M.) responded with a statement that this was unacceptable to its members and immediately balloted for strike action. General Secretary Abdullah Amir told the press, "Our members are literally working themselves to death in the cause of Jihad. We don't ask for much in return but to be treated like this is like a kick in the teeth".

Speaking from his shed in Tipton in the West Midlands in which he currently resides, Al Qaeda chief executive Osama bin Laden explained, "We sympathize with our workers concerns but Al Qaeda is simply not in a position to meet their demands. They are simply not accepting the realities of modern-day Jihad in a competitive marketplace."

"Thanks to Western depravity, there is now a chronic shortage of virgins in the afterlife. It's a straight choice between reducing expenditure and laying people off. I don't like cutting wages but I'd hate to have to tell 3,000 of my staff that they won't be able to blow themselves up."

Spokespersons for the union in the North East of England, Ireland, Wales and the entire Australian continent stated that the strike would not affect their operations as "There are no virgins in their areas anyway".

Thomas Sowell always zeros in on the important misunderstandings that occur in conversations between political opponents. As an example, there is always a condemnation by liberals of the fact that upper income families make more than lower income families. Sowell points out:

One of the true hallmarks of dishonest statistics are citations of household income. Talking with someone who quotes " unfair statistics" as if they are relevant is a waste of time. Lies are always lies. Liberals lie.

A couple of weeks ago the Governor of Hawaii insisted he would end the argument about Obama's place of birth by releasing his birth certificate.

Two days ago he said that he cannot find the birth certificate that would prove Obama was born in Hawaii anywhere in the state records. However he insisted that there is a written notation in the state's record that satisfies him.

Today he says under Hawaii law he can't release even this record without Obama's permission. Obama refuses to allow it. I repeat, Obama refuses to allow it. The Governor says you should trust him. He wouldn't lie.

I am not a "birther", but I must congratulate the Governor of Hawaii on making the "birther" movement seem rational in their paranoia!

Andrew Klavan - On The Culture

Great video about the attempts by progressives to stop conservatives from speaking. Their strategy? The same one they attempted to use after the killings in Tucson. They have renewed efforts to return to the Fairness Doctrine in radio, whereby conservatives were stopped from speaking because they were not "valid" opposition and had no "valid" points that should be refuted. They have now added a new cause to their agenda, Net Nuetrality. Same goal. Different media. I had never heard Andrew Klavan before, but this video is great.

It's been two years since I last wrote. Then it was about the Invesco Field Rally in Denver. Now it's about that rally in Tucson. If you don't mind a few harsh words from someone seasoned in such things, no matter that you tried hard, the tragic incident in Tucson was no Reichstag Fire, and while you made as much of it as you could, you need to hone your shtick a bit better in future. I keep writing to you out of admiration for your political inclinations and skills, of course.

Clarice has given conservatives a good laugh. It is funny - unless you are a progressive. Then your reaction is more likely that you are being mocked - which is, I believe, the point of the article.

President Obama decided that the appropriate forum to hold a memorial service was a stadium.

President Obama felt that the proper dress for a solemn memorial was T-Shirts with a slogan which let people identify themselves as attendees.

President Obama believed that the proper atmosphere for a memorial was pep rally cheering, and encouraged the crowd to get wound up and excited. [1/16/2011 - It has now been reported that the cheering which seemed so out of place, was actually encouraged by repeated messages of "Applause" that were flashed on the jumbotron for the crowd. Obama not only reads his speeches from a teleprompter, they use a large version to tell his crowd how to react!]

To encourage their enthusiasm he made sure that everyone knew that after visiting and touching Congresswoman Gifford, one of those injured in the event, she woke up from her coma as a direct result of his intervention. He has not yet tried to touch any of the 6 dead to see if his magic will bring them back to life.

The MSM has reported that the speech was "pitch perfect" and had a magnificent "unifying power."

They must have missed his subtle but clear attacks. To satisfy his supporters, Obama included snide allusions against the "tone of political debate" obviously meant as a condemnation of his political opponents. The partisan crowd "got it" and they cheered his attack.

Despite being a former lawyer, Obama also directly contradicted his own prosecutor's basis for filing federal charges in the killing of Judge Roll. You would think a lawyer would have recognized the ignorance of telling a story proclaiming a truth that sabotaged a federal prosecution.

However, the most important review is Obama's own. Despite the shortcomings noted above, Obama is pleased with his own "performance" and had his press secretary make a statement telling the world that his goal was to provide "examples of what some of those that lost their lives in this accident can teach us." He is very proud that he accomplished that. ACCIDENT? Accident? He thinks this was an accident?

The religious component for the pep rally was provided by a "Medicine man" in costume, who curiously did not represent the religion of a single one of the dead or injured.

In keeping with the theme of focusing on the Obamas, the University of Arizona president recited sections of "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mixalot and dedicated it to Michelle. He did not make clear exactly what that had to do with memorializing the six dead, or the injured. You know. The claimed purpose of the event.

President Reagan made a famous 4 minute speech to memorialize the dead in the space shuttle tragedy. President Obama decided that to make his speech a more important one, he needed to make it longer. So he droned on for 32 minutes. Take that Ronald Reagan.

In addition to hanging "Palin" - the home owner Chad Michael Morrisette also put up a depiction of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, engulfed in flames. This was done the week before the 2008 election.

Morissette does admit that if he had put up a display resembling Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama hanging from a noose, "people would've probably thrown things through our windows."

"The image of a hanged black man is a lot more intense than the image of a hanged white woman -- for our country, in the history of our country," he explained to KCAL.

Of course being a Democrat he would never have done that anyway. Hanging Sarah Palin is not over the line because she is not black and not a Democrat. That makes her fair game for any threat or smear. There is always an excuse for violent rhetoric from the left. It is never okay from the right. That used to be called a double standard before Democrats decided that hypocrisy did not apply to them. They are infallible and can do or say anything that they want. It is only Republicans who must never say anything that could in the least way be considered out of line. Democrats of course will be the judges for both groups. Democrats call that balanced.

A psychotic nutjob (believed to be Jared Lee Loughner) who rejects religion (especially the Christianity so admired by the TEA Party participants), who admires "The Communist Manifesto" and "Mein Kampf", who has written his own Constitution because he despises ours (while the TEA Party movement loves our Constitution), espouses left wing positions on most political issues, smokes pot, believes in the 2012 Mayan prophecy predicting the end of the world, went into rages against George W. Bush, is clearly at odds with the TEA Party movement commitment to working within our system, has been angry with Congresswoman Gifford since he met with her in 2007 (a year before Sarah Palin or the TEA Parties entered the scene) and yet, and yet... every left wing newspaper and blog in the country from the New York Times (Paul Krugman) and CBS to the Daily Kos and Talking Points Memo is saying that this deranged liberal killing other liberals is all the fault of...

Insanity. Even Oprah Winfrey has jumped on this bandwagon without an iota of evidence.

Of course the greatest hypocrisy is that the same journalists who urged caution about blaming Muslims after the Fort Hood masacre did not even let the day end without assessing blame (no matter how ignorant and erroneous) in this situation as being totally the fault of the TEA Party movement and Sarah Palin. The most egregious is the extreme left wing Daily Kos, who spewed vitriol at Congressman Gabrielle Giffords constantly for her moderate positions. In the diary entry posted at the top of this column "blueboy" used the word "Dead" in regard to her repeatedly and they had a map with a target on her site just as Sarah Palin did. This entry has now been deleted as the Daily Kos joins the drumbeat that it is all Sarah Palin's fault. They even have the gall to blame Palin for the same "target" metphor that they used.

Talking to a Democrat is becoming a waste of time. There is no common basis on which to have a conversation. One of their own goes schizophrenic and kills and wounds several of mostly their own voters. They leap immediately to the accusation the person has to be a deluded right winger just because they want it to be true. They claim it was TEA Party movement opposition to their partisan politics that caused this killing. All evidence refutes their contention and yet they WILL NOT hear it. This is as ridiculous as claiming that the Oklahoma City bombing carried out by committed atheist Timothy McVeigh was the fault of his listening to the Christian right (something that there is overwhelming evidence the atheist McVeigh never did).

Loughner was not right wing, he was paranoid! That he was left wing is not the issue either. This was not an act about politics. Though you would never know it if you follow the left wing media.

Once again the lunatic left simply ignores the facts and rants about their chosen scapegoats, which continues to be the TEA Party movement. How do you talk with anyone that stupid? Or that ludicrous?
