Grimes And Woolard Unite
To defeat Butterfield

Ashley Woolard, the nominee for the 1st District, is proud to accept the endorsement of Jerry Grimes, the interim Pastor of Peter's Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Wallace, North Carolina and Woolard's former primary opponent.

Woolard made his political reputation as chairman of the Beaufort County GOP by healing divisons in that party organization. With this endorsement, the Woolard campaign presents a unified party for the general election. Grimes has joined the Woolard campaign team and is crisscrossing the district on its behalf.

“At a time in which unemployment continues to devastate Eastern North Carolina amidst the absenteeism of congressional leadership poised and prepared to address these challenges, Ashley Woolard will provide that much needed leadership as the next U.S. Representative from North Carolina's 1st Congressional District. His embodiment of the traditional values that made the United States a world-power, his entrepreneurial spirit and longstanding service to a large number of communities throughout Eastern North Carolina, not only make Ashley a viable candidate in the 1st District but will provide to the 700,000 residents of the 1st District a representative who understands the needs and concerns of working families, small business owners, veterans, students and young people. Having had the opportunity to speak at length with Ashley and discuss his goals and sincere desire to serve as a citizen-legislator for the good people of Eastern North Carolina, I am both honored and elated to offer my time and talents in ways beneficial to his efforts," said Grimes in a statement for the media.

"I am proud and pleased to accept Jerry's endorsement and I am looking forward to working together to get our country back on the right track. Jerry Grimes has a bright future in the GOP and as North Carolina leader", concluded Woolard.
