Inner Banks Philosophy

For progressives, the one thing that absolutely can not be tolerated is true freedom, the liberty of the individual. This was stated eloquently by one of the heroes of left wing thought, Jean-Jacques Rousseau. He believed that if you permitted individual freedom the “social compact” would be “an empty formula.” The core of the utopia the left envisions, the “undertaking which alone can give force to the rest,” was quite simply this: “Whoever refuses to obey the general will shall be compelled to do so by the whole body.”

The arrogant belief that statist power has the right to compel everyone to think and act alike should frighten all who have experienced the individual freedom of America. Yet, for some incredible reason, Democrats have no problem with the idea of the state making you conform to the state's beliefs of how you are expected to act.

This nation is at war over that simple dichotomy. It is not a political disagreement. It is war.
