Barack Obama had to postpone yesterday's meetings with congressional leadership about getting control of our $1.5 trillion annual deficits for the next 10 years, on a path to triple our national debt.

What was more important to Obama? A meal to talk policy with another black "community organizer" - Al Sharpton.

The background to this "critical" meal is recent polls that show Obama support in the black community has slipped from 95% down to 85%, the traditional support level for Democrats in recent years - pre Obama. Since reduced enthusiasm will likely mean voter apathy in the back community will cost Obama another 15% of support on election day (another consistent reality) that slippage in the polls represents the entire voter advantage Obama had against McCain in 2008!

No wonder Obama thought it more important than some trivial vote about our nation's bankruptcy.
