2010 Census Data
For North Carolina

Some interesting highlights from NC Census Data for 2010

Total Population for NC - 9,535,483

White population - 68.5%

Black population - 21.5%

Hispanic population - 8.4%

Total Population for Bertie County - 21,282

Bertie County black population - 62.5%

(#1 county in the state in percentage of black population)

The five adjacent counties of Bertie, Hertford, Northampton, Edgecombe, and Halifax constitute a pocket of the only counties in our state with signficantly more than 50% of the county being black. Politics in this area will therefore consistently be extremely progressive, bordering on socialist. Big government dependence is the politics of nearly 90% of America's black population.

The Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald has an article with other Census data that is of interest. That article can be found
